Calibration Technician
SUMMARY:
Red Star Contract Manufacturing is searching for a detail-oriented calibration technician to join our team. The position is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gauges, and other testing/measuring equipment. The Calibration Technician will also be responsible for identifying faulty equipment and suggesting upgrades when necessary. Additional tasks may be required from other departments, as required, and directed by the Quality Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes the following but other duties may be assigned)
- Performing routine equipment maintenance
- Calibrating equipment to industry standards
- Troubleshooting equipment repairs
- Conducting equipment repairs
- Responding to client queries
- Suggesting equipment upgrades
- Maintaining calibration equipment and supplies
- Completing equipment reports
MARGINAL/LESS ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with validation activities, such as inspection, and testing, as needed
- Assist with additional tasks that may be required from other departments, as time allows
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school degree, or equivalent, required
- High attention to detail
- Good verbal and written command of the English language
- 1-3 years' quality experience, preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Some knowledge and experience in calibration
- Experience with Quality work instructions, Quality operating procedures, and forms, preferred
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mini-Tab
- Knowledge of, and experience using, hand-held measuring devices, including micrometers and calipers, required
