Injection Molding Operator

SUMMARY:

Red Star Contract Manufacturing (RSCM) is expanding rapidly and needs enthusiastic and dedicated General Production Operators (Injection Molding) to join our growing team. We are currently hiring for all shifts. Experience with injection molding preferred but not required. The Injection Molding Operator is responsible to assist in set-up of moderately complex operations of equipment, including tool maintenance. Ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. May be responsible to operate some advanced inspection equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Set-up moderately complex jobs and operate Injection Molding Machines producing medical device parts and assemble molded parts.

· Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part.

· Sets up and operates molding machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to ensuring functionality and performance.

· Starts and observes molding machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance molding.

· Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

· Verifies dimensions using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and height gauges.

· Responsible to assist in the training of personnel as required.

· Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve molding or assembly problems.

· Complete essential documentation as required.

· Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.

· Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.

· Must be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to meet production schedules.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High School Graduate or equivalent.

SKILLS:

Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly. Ability to be a team player.
